Meredith College Tour & Reception

Following the conclusion of the afternoon plenary session on Wednesday, October 9th, conference attendees participated in a a tour and reception at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC.

Meredith College is in the process of completing the construction of a new interdisciplinary science teaching building on their Raleigh campus. The new 100,000 GSF facility has been designed utilizing many of the pedagogical approaches developed through Project Kaleidoscope. Included are facilities for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math and Computer Science. The tour was conducted during the last month of construction during the commissioning process. Participants had the opportunity to see state of the art building and laboratory control systems, innovative energy management techniques, and see plans for the sustainable environment planned for the greenhouse. Tours were conducted by Jeffrey Schantz, Principal from BJLAS, PLLC., the architect for the project.

The event included a catered reception sponsored by BJLAS, PLLC, Rogers Builders, Valley City, LabConco, and Siemens.
