Rich with history and tradition, yet booming with cosmopolitan progress, the city of San Antonio, Texas, represents the perfect blend of the past, present, and future.

Visitors to the city—over 20 million each year—are treated to a one-of-a-kind experience. Whether touring the Mission San Antonio de Valero, site of the famous Battle of The Alamo, enjoying a stroll along the charming River Walk, or taking advantage of the city's numerous shopping and dining options, San Antonio truly offers something for everyone.

The San Antonio River, the lifeblood of the city, offers visitors added opportunities for recreation and entertainment. Native Americans once called it "Yanaguana," or "refreshing/clear waters." Today, these picturesque waters continue to flow through the heart of downtown, inviting visitors to their banks. The world-famous San Antonio River Walk stretches for two-and-a-half miles along the river, from the Municipal Auditorium and the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center to the King William Historic District. The River Walk offers quiet cobblestone footpaths, as well as bustling cafes, shops, and hotels. The San Antonio River also boasts a unique river taxi system and a variety of river cruises.
