On October 2-4, 2007, nearly 600 architects, engineers, federal employees, laboratory owners, facility managers, and other laboratory professionals gathered at the Charleston Area Convention Center Complex in North Charleston, South Carolina, to discuss the latest in sustainable laboratory design and construction at the Labs21 2007 Annual Conference.

John Knott, president and CEO of the Noisette Company and Dr. John Kelly, vice president for Public Service and Agriculture at Clemson University captivated conference attendees during the Opening Plenary keynote address on Tuesday morning. Mr. Knott (pictured right) spoke about the challenges in converting a former Navy yard into a completely sustainable community. Dr. Kelly then talked about the Clemson University Restoration Institute, which is located on the Noisette campus.
