Monitoring Laboratory Building Energy Performance
at UC Merced
Karl Brown, California Institute for Energy
Efficiency
The Labs21 pilot partnership with the Univeristy of California at Merced is now at the stage
of monitoring energy use in the first set of campus buildings including
Science and Engineering I. The partnership is fulfilling its potential
to achieve aggressive goals for energy efficiency, utilizing extensive
monitoring for commissioning, and optimization of operations, as
well as extending results to future buildings. This presentation
will outline the analysis of the first year of full building operations,
comparing energy use with benchmark-derived performance targets.
