Optimization, the Key To Sustainable Labs

Presentation on multi-use Incubation Laboratory and energy use profile verses the original facility model. How the optimization process has reduced the energy consumption for the facility and provided a tool for the owner to maintain proper energy expenditure in the facility. The presentation will discuss the optimization process, how to properly evaluate a laboratory's energy consumption, identify proper operational changes to provide enhanced facility environments for the least energy consumption.

Biographies:

Stephen R. Wiggins is an Associate Partner with Newcomb & Boyd, an Atlanta based consulting firm. His work with the firm involves commissioning, retrocommissioning, and training activities for institutional, commercial, government and industrial projects. Mr. Wiggins has spoken internationally on the subject of commissioning, and has presented on sustainability and commissioning to Greenprints, the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors' Association of Australia, GovEnergy, the National Conference on Building Commissioning, and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He is a past President of the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB), and is past Chairman of the Building Systems Commissioning Committee.
