Schneider Electric’s Laboratory ESCO Presentation

Jim Plourde, Schneider Electric

This presentation will explore how Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) can be leveraged to overcome the unique energy efficiency-related issues in Laboratories. Although laboratories have unique requirements and differing physical infrastructure assets, experience shows that energy efficiency and optimization opportunities exist in nearly every lab.  Additionally, these projects often provide opportunities to improve life safety and compliance with environmental mandates and standards.

At the conclusion of this presentation you will understand the underpinnings of successful ESPCs and laboratory energy efficiency programs and understand  the four-part life-cycle approach leading to success, including:

1. Energy audit and measure: Collect the data and analyze
2. Fix the basics: Deploy low cost, high yield fixes to blatant energy waste
3. Optimize through automation and regulation: Integrate energy management into everyday processes through use of modern, high efficiency technologies
4. Monitor, maintain, and improve: ensure savings are embedded and sustained
