Myths and Facts Part II…Trends in Laboratory Exhaust Systems
Anthony Rossi, Greenheck Fan Corporation
Energy-saving concepts in laboratory exhaust fan systems shall be discussed, presenting test data for both variable speed fan systems and fan staging, based upon field tests and tests conducted in an Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) accredited laboratory.
Test results shall be presented for variable volume systems with respect to energy savings, flow measurement, and maintaining pressurization (containment) in a laboratory exhaust system. Benefits to the consulting engineer and the facility owner/operator shall be presented, focusing on system performance, performance validation, system reliability, maintenance, safety, and energy conservation.
