Federal Laboratory Sub-metering

The initial driver for metering and sub-metering on a federal site was the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This presentation will cover the initial drivers of implementing a metering system in a federal laboratory and the lessons learned on the value of sub-metering a laboratory campus, which applies to all laboratories.
Biography
Mr. Greg Palko is a Certified Energy Manager and Certified Facilities Manager. He has more than 25 years of experience with facility operations and management at the Department of Energy's East Tennessee Technology Park and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He is currently the energy efficiency program manager in ORNL's Facilities Management Division. In this position he is implementing process improvements and energy efficiency projects to achieve cost savings and streamline facility operations. Mr. Palko has a Bachelor of Science in engineering science and mechanics from Tennessee Technological University and a Master of Science in industrial engineering from the University of Tennessee. He is all-but-dissertation for a Ph.D. in engineering management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
