Pre-Conference Training Session picture
The conference kicked off on Monday with pre-conference training sessions, including Gordon Sharp presenting on both ventilation design practices and return on investment of energy savings strategies.

 


 

Monday evening's tour of Stanford University (at right) provided attendees with the chance to get up close with mechanical equipment.

Wednesday's tour gave attendees an inside look at a new University of California, Santa Cruz laboratory.

Picture of Opening Plenary

The Opening Plenary Session formally kicked off the conference Tuesday morning and honored the winners of the International Sustainable Laboratory Student Design Competition.

Pictured here are the students from Clemson University (right), one of the two winning teams, with Anthony M. Babauta, Assistant Secretary for Insular Areas for the U.S. Department of the Interior (second from left), and Stephen Meinhold of the University of North Carolina Wilmington (far left).

 


 

The other winning team, from Carnegie Mellon University, posed for a photo after the Opening Plenary.

Both teams presented their winning submissions in a technical session on Wednesday.

The exhibit hall was open for much of the conference, with special focus on the booths during the Technology and Services Fair Evening Reception.

Mr. Geoffrey Bell, recently retired from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, was recognized at the Go Beyond Awards Luncheon for his service to the Labs21 and I2SL communities.
