Timothy Unruh

Timothy Unruh
Federal Energy Management Program, DOE

Dr. Timothy D. Unruh is the Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP), which falls within the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). As FEMP Program Manager, Dr. Unruh oversees the implementation of policy and actions that result in energy efficiency implementation, renewable energy adoption, reductions in energy and water use in Federal government operations.

Dr. Unruh was formerly Director of Operations for ConEdison Solutions where he led a team of engineers and managers. Dr. Unruh has a doctorate degree in electrical engineering from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.

Dan Amon is the senior advisor for energy, planning, and review at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Mr. Amon has led a distinguished career in engineering and construction. He has a wide range of experience in mechanical design and construction, including: semiconductor facilities, pharmaceutical facilities, and other high technology industries.

Mr. Sullivan is dedicated to helping healthcare facilities improve energy efficiency, patient safety, and the environment of care through Schneider Electric's intelligent, integrated building management, power, security, and IT infrastructure solutions. Since joining Schneider Electric in 1996, Mr. Sullivan has held marketing and sales management roles within the building management and industrial automation organizations of Schneider Electric, in both the United States and France. He most recently served as the vice president of the Global Strategic Account organization. Mr. Sullivan's previous experience in the IT industry offers added value and insight into the importance and future of IT in healthcare. His extensive global experience includes travel to 63 countries—in every major economy and emerging market, as well developing countries—to understand the needs and challenges facing healthcare decision makers and executives today.

Paul Langevin
Merrick Canada, ULC

Paul Langevin has been involved with the planning, design, commissioning, operations and technical leadership of laboratory projects for 30 years. Mr. Langevin is the Director of Laboratory Design Services for Merrick & Company global and manages Merrick’s Canadian subsidiary. Prior to joining Merrick, Mr. Langevin managed Biocontainment Design Services and was the senior project engineer/manager for the Canadian Health Science Center for Human and Animal Health.

As the world evolves to address issues of risk, changing regulations, increased energy costs and forever changing needs of science applications, Mr. Langevin believes that sustainability is more than a criterion; it is a design objective specific to the project in consideration. During this keynote presentation, Mr. Langevin will share his hands-on design approach and understanding of laboratories and the future of sustainability with the 2013 I2SL Annual Conference audience.
