General Conference Information

  • Can I receive Continuing Education Credits for attending the I2SL Annual Conference?

    Yes. Conference and pre-conference training session attendees are eligible to receive Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for professional engineers and Continuing Education Credits (CECs) from the American Institute of Architects for registered architects.

    Green Building Council Institute (GBCI) Continuing Education Hours toward the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Credential Maintenance Program will be available for select pre-conference training sessions.

  • What offsite tours will you offer this year?

    An offsite evening tour will be offered on Monday, September 23. I2SL is in the process of planning and confirming this year's offsite evening tour. Check back soon for more information.

Conference Location

  • Where will the 2013 I2SL Annual Conference take place?

    The 2013 I2SL Annual Conference will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

  • Where can attendees stay while attending the conference?

    I2SL has reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Minneapolis, which is conveniently located two blocks from the Minneapolis Convention Center. The discounted room rate, which includes complimentary in-room internet access, is $159 per night plus tax. The last day to reserve a discount-rate room in the block is Friday, August 23, 2013.

  • Can attendees bring their spouse/family to the conference?

    There are plenty of things to do in and around Minneapolis, and I2SL encourages attendees to make a vacation out of their trip.

Registration

  • When will conference registration open?

    Pre-conference registration for the 2013 I2SL Annual Conference is now closed. Visit the 2013 I2SL Annual Conference registration desk in the Lower Level Lobby of the Minneapolis Convention Center beginning Monday, September 23, at 7:30 a.m. to register on site.
  • What is the cost to attend the 2013 I2SL Annual Conference?

    Regular attendee registration fees vary depending on when you register.

    Discounted attendee registration is available to speakers, exhibitors, federal employees, groups, and students. Technology and Services Fair tickets are also available.

  • What is included with a registration?

    Registration includes some meals, refreshments, admission to conference sessions and events, and other items. View the full list of what is included.

  • Am I eligible for a registration discount?

    If you register on or before July 24, 2013, you will receive $100 off of your conference registration fee.

    In addition, speakers, exhibitors, federal employees, groups, and students may be eligible for a discounted registration rate.

  • Can I register for a pre-conference training session even if I am not planning to attend the conference?

    Yes. To register, attendees should fill out the conference registration form as they would normally. Select the course(s) you would like to attend, but do not select any of the options under "Conference Registration."

  • Can I register for a working group meeting even if I am not planning to attend the conference?

    Working group meetings are free to conference attendees and I2SL Members. If you are an I2SL Member and are not planning to attend the conference, please contact I2SL at info@i2sl.org or 703.841.5484 to register for only the working group meetings.

  • Is it possible to see just one person speak or attend the conference for just one day?

    Attendees are highly encouraged to attend the entire event so that you do not miss out on important information. However, if you can only attend for one day, please contact I2SL for one-day registration instructions.

    I2SL does not sell admission to individual sessions.

  • Will press passes be available, and if so, what is the attendance fee?

    Complimentary press passes are available to members of the media who wish to attend and report on the conference. A media kit will be provided. Please contact I2SL for more information and registration instructions.

Internet Access During the Conference

  • Will there be Internet access during the conference?

    Guests staying in the conference room block at the Hilton Minneapolis will receive complimentary Internet access in their guest rooms. 

    Wireless Internet will not be available in session rooms or the exhibit hall. 

    Exhibitors can order internet in their booths.

  • Will public computers be available?

    I2SL does not provide communal computers for attendees. However, the Minneapolis Convention Center has an onsite business center located on the main floor of the building. The Hilton Minneapolis also has a business center for hotel guests.

Technology and Services Fair

  • Who will exhibit at the 2013 I2SL Technology and Services Fair?

    Several organizations will showcase their sustainable laboratory and high-tech building equipment and services during the fair.

  • What can an attendee do at the 2013 I2SL Technology and Services Fair?

    Attendees can browse the booths, view cutting-edge products, and network with exhibitors and other attendees. In addition, select exhibitors will present Technology Demonstrations―educational presentations in the exhibit hall that feature an exhibitor's equipment. These demonstrations will give attendees the chance to see how various industry tests and procedures are performed and showcase sustainable technology in action.
